Mercury the Mesmeric, Sexy Messenger of the Gods.

This image enhances the chemical, mineralogical, and physical differences between the rocks that make up Mercury’s surface. These colours are not what Mercury would look like to the human eye under normal circumstances (bright sepia), if however Mercury was thrown off course, out of its current orbit and further into the solar system, it would appear close to these colours after cooling, looking much like Pluto, and sexy as fuck.

Whilst I ramble on about Mercury, here is KRAUTROCKER and wannabe magician, Walter Wegmüller, performing ‘The Magician’ (1973)…

MERCURY

Associated with movement, communication, logic, understanding, languages and productivity. It facilitates comprehension and spurs physical activity.
Also symbolises our ability to make connections; to understand the relationship between things, ourselves and the wider world.

In astrology, physically Mercury corresponds to the hands, shoulders, lungs and mouth.

Like the Roman god it’s named after, Mercury is changeable in its gender, neither masculine nor feminine – quite mischievous – instead it takes on the nature of the planet with which it’s connected. This applies to its other facets; Mercury may be warm or cold, positive or negative depending on associated planets.

Its changeable nature parallels it’s behavior and appearance in the night sky. Depending on time/season/position, Mercury has the most diverse changes in colour/tone of the plants. It’s most often seen alongside other planets, sometimes appearing treacherously close in orbit, as though a satellite. Its orientations are the most extreme, darting around the sky throughout the year, and appearing at all times of night. It enters retrograde four times throughout the year, the most of any planet. Mercury is clearly very busy.

Positive aspects: Wit, memory, organisational skills, invention, articulation, eloquence.

Negative traits: Faltering concentration, writers block, learning difficulties, exertion, fickleness, lacking direction or rhythm.

And finally, here is Kate Bush in Mercury retrograde.
